    Hi everyone,

So I see that your class is basically determined by what weapon you use. So say for 15 levels I've been using a bow and I decide I want to try staff, should I make a new character to do that, or can/should I just try staff on the same character? I don't know if it's better to plan out exactly what you want to do from the very beginning of a character or if you can basically just play one character the entire time.

different weapons gain different numbers in stats.
Staffs gain matk much more matk with int than a bow does.
Knuckles/md gain atk with agi while no other weapon does etc.

Plan out your character, not doing so can cost you valuable skill points and may result in having to remake/spend orbs to reset which is never cool

in most cases you cannot just change your weapon type and continue with the same character.
many skills have restrictions and the weapon mastery skills only apply to certain weapon types.
you should decide on your "class" beforehand.
more options for secondary skills are unlocked as your level increases, like Knight and Priest Skills, but your main weapon should stay the same.

only in the beginning you can switch from 1h to 2h swords or bow to bowgun, staff to MD. but once you are set for your weapon, you will set stat points, equip sub weapons (if possible) and learn skills and it will all become more and more geared towards that set-up you chose.

in your case you can either keep the Bow and learn some magic for it's effects and magic defense,
or you can switch to Bowgun and equip a Magic Device as sub weapon to use stroger magic while keeping your shot skills.
another option is to use a Staff and equip Arrows as sub weapon to use mainly magic but also make use of your shot skills.
however, the skill Shot Mastery which increases the power of Bows and Bowguns will become ineffective and the skill points you set on it become waste.
the last option is to create a new character and make it spellcaster type "class".
you get 3 character slots for free, once you get the 2nd you can make a new character and then you could even delete the 1st to use the slot for yet another character.

I don't think so, it is determined by your stat points distribution, just like Norcelia said.

There's no classes in toram just builds based on stats and skill distribution. But yeah some stats and skills will work and generate better damage with certain weapons compared to others.

    (Dual wield too u.u)

Thank you all for the replies, I really appreciate the information. I might start a new character since I'm level 15 or so and haven't been planning mine out very well, so I'll probably find like a build guide and then start over. I'm an archer now, but I might try a mage. I like playing support/healing characters, but I don't know how hard that'll be on mobile.

I really do think it's pretty amazing how complex this game is, though. Most mobile MMORPGs seem to just give you a few classes and that's it. I'm also really excited for the house/homestead and pet stuff.

Yeah, the best option is to "Plan" your character first before chose a "Class" (there area an achivement that gives you a book to reset your stats and other to reset your skills but each book can be used only one) because if you want to change your "Class" you need not only buy the respective Weapon Skills on the library but also you need to reset your stats (Because each weapon uses diferent stats) Dont worry, there are achievements that grants you a second and a third character slot, so you can use that slots to make (or try) other "Classes".

It does matter what class you start with, it'll put 1 point in that class's skill tree. If you wanted to swap from sword to bow, you'd still have that useless skill point in Hard Hit.

On the other hand, if you were planning to move from say Knuckle to Sword Fu, the skill point in Smash wouldn't have a negative effect. This is where you check what stats you've invested in. If you invested in Agi instead of Str, then you won't be hitting your hardest.

In the end, you can equip any weapon, but you have to check your skill tree and stat investment to see if you can truly "switch" to that class.
