Is HB even useful anymore

Its super difficult to find a pt cuz no finale
Ths I feel can do their job but better
I kind of have to mooch off of friends if they decide to farm a boss (oh you're farming that boss? Let me join!)
Should I just scrap my HB to join the Finale army or ths? It's a fun class to play but so many setbacks makes it entirely inefficient to really do anything now

Am I playing HB wrong or is it really just useless now

Yes I know it has the pierce effect but Im not gett my full worth out of it

I did an Ultimate gem on TD and SS did more damage than DT

Just want to know if there's any redeeming qualities before resetting

 

I have had the same thoughts as you. Its unfortunate, because I am still endeared because it first choice I picked when I first began the game, and I'm a big polearms enthusiast. I'm not sure as you have stated here often..but then I see how cool the stance and attack animations are and decide to conclude that none else look as cool as halberd in action. So, cool factor, halberd wins hands down in my book.

I was rejected and ignored for finale users and there's nothing else that I really enjoy playing as other than a halb

I literally couldn't find a pt until I said "halb with finale"
First thing they asked is "have finale?"

 

I haven't enjoyed any other than halberd myself tbh. I understand mages are mainly and usually powerhouses and nukers in mmorpgs but the finale hype is..I don't know how to express this lol. I know even sword users with finale now. Halberd with finale..hmm! There is the p.avatar boss doing that hehe. If one can manage 1000 or so matk with halberd this could be a viable possibility I reckon. Don't get discouraged though. I'm going to still hold out in hope for the future..

Well my helb is lvl 123 and I already feel useless my friends let me play with them but i use my combo and ready for second one the boss already died helb is cool and I dun wanna delete my chara.

I feel the same. Compared to finale and cf, the power output is lower. I cant see any benefit of having halb as pure dps now.
Even if i build a bit of vit, mage with int>vit still surpass me a lot.
Lets hope another re adjustment

 

It's said in the Recommended Stats section when you're adding stats to your char... "Requires support from equipment". Halberd's always been a weapon type for people loaded with Spina... and real life cash if one so desires, because Avatars can also boost stats.

Also, Dragon Tooth is not for bosses with flimsy defenses (read: normal and hard, maybe nightmare), and it is not advised for those without proper gear because it doesn't have its own Skill Constant to boost your base DMG; the damage is BASED WHOLLY ON YOUR ATTACK STAT ALONE. And Crit Damage. Also, Dragon Tooth is affected by Whack, Long Range, Long Range Damage and Short Range Damage. All those increase the output of DT... Unlike Finale, and Cross Fire while we're at it, which is unaffected by Concentrate/Whack, Long Range, Long Range and Short Range Damage stats.

Oh, and always keep Accuracy Booster pots on you.

Another thing... Base Drop Rate Gem damage reductions ARE APPLIED AT THE FINAL STEP OF THE DAMAGE CALCULATION. And Physical Pierce is done ON THE FIRST STEP of the Final Damage Calculation. Refer to TheXIIIthGuy's guide for details.

 

We know that (for ppl who have read tome of offense and skill list), and dont forget finale (mage) is one and only magic skill used nowadays and prorated by other classes.
No matter how high p. Pierce you have, if its bad prorated vs finale prorated by other physical dps, finale still win. (as long as they can cast it, on gespent 2 and some bosses its hard for finale. In other bosses, they are the best in term of dmg output).

 

To everyone here saying that halberd is weak or d.tooth is a weak skill than finale and all such non sense.

Have you tried fighting pg ulti? Or zahhak ulti?
Me and other players regularly fight ulti bosses for lvling and halberd completely destroys these 2 bosses while finale desperate attempts to dent the bosses fail.
It seems everyone cant realize how op 100% physical pierce can be. Yeah it needs a prorator and tank so what? Its not like finale can be casted without tank either.
Just because theres event bosses right now where halberd is not as good are you really gonna delete just for that reason?

Also theres no way d.tooth is doing less damage than ss on td even if it was normal mode. Your ss just happened to get good stab roll nothing else.

I think what your main problem is that halberd is a rich guy's weapon. If your halberd is not +S 2s or not ele +A you are not gonna do good damage. Your damage drops considerably +B vs +S compared to +B vs +S on a staff because of finale's huge constant it does not grow as much with matk. If you mean that way yes of course finale is broken due to that reason and for that I believe it should be nerfed as well. But if you are asking another buff on this already op 100% pierce skill then nope its not valid.

Try asking some filthy rich player that uses every class ever and ask him which weapon gives the highest dps. A lot of them will reply halberd is the best among physical.

My halb is 2s +S btw

Could be the statting and sp allocation but it doesn't fix how near impossible it is to find a pt for some of us who's guildmates aren't available

Even then they'd still pick finale or anything else over halbs

 

maybe effiency? I mean when you need fast farmers, halb really aren't suitable for this, yeah you can kill boss for 10-15 secs but your mp usage is huge, after that youll be mp charging forever unless you have mp charge @lvl 10, and mage or arch can deal almost the same time, with maximizer and ampr.

 

Most DT users have a short mp combo and warcry of struggle is like 1sec cast for mp

 

wait till they release boss with op def/mdef

 

Fate of Hb users looks similar to DW

Sucks that mages and tanks are the only desired members, the game's falling apart and literally becoming Finale Online

 

youre just used to the old meta that halberds are kings and are always sought for. mages were ignored back then and now the tables just turned.

 

Actually i wasn't around when halbs were kings ._.

I was a mage main despite halb being my first character cuz I spent most of my time farming

I only really went back into the halb class around February or so
Started toram in August, started playing in late November, didn't understand how to play halb and was poor, stuck with mage until February for candela

It was katanas who were kings, then snipers I remembered...
