Due to various changes in mechanics, many previous sources are outdated.

    Video explaining changes:

Thus, I'll be using this as a blog of sorts, to help me keep a written record of various pet tests, so as to give current information.

(Blog date as of 12 Aug 2020)

    PS:

Not really looking for "build advice", persey..
    However:
Feel free to comment, if/when ya have something to add to the tests.

Or have questions of something to be tested. ^_^

    PPS:
    Post that prompted this blog:

    Things to test:
Unless noted, assume all tests done with Gentle Medpot pet.
    • If Fighter, assume Bow.
    • The Medpot (Meditating Potum)
      • Why Medpot?
        • has natural boost on support skills!! xD
        • Has double-tap (auto) ability
        • Cute!
      • Why Gentle?
        • See "Tips learned" ;)
      • Questions:
        • Gentle vs Fighting pet's AMPR / MP Recovery
          • Same Natural 40 AMPR? (Y/N)
      • (Self-note)
        • Pets used:
          • "Subj: pas"
          • "Subj: Atk"
      • If Fighter needed:
        • Justice vs Timid vs Other
      • Spikes an issue?
        • High-end bosses (Yes!!)
          • Ie: mq Lv100 onward, loves spikes, Fractals, &/or Fatals
          • Especially "Cronobia related" ones.. -_-
    • Timid (close-combat)
      • Support skills work ok? (Y/N)
      • Break Armour = ok? (Y/N)
      • Sweep = ok (Y/N)
        • Conclusion: viable / not viable (ans in bold, once known..)
    • Timid (overall)
      • Survival improved? (vs "Gentle" vs "Fighter") (Y/N)
        • Depends on spikes
      • Weapon type matters? (For support build) (Y/N)
    • Skill-up:
    Note:
    )

    • Found this video showing a similar idea:

    • Seeing as the above is done after the update, I'll assume its still current. However.. ASS > U > ME, so..
    • My test, to reaffirm:
      • Used 50-kill count testing (idea from above)
      • Used untrained pets
      • Aoe (combo) vs Aoe (no combo) vs 1-on-1 combat
    • Note: I decided to skip the "video version" of mine, at this time..
      • (Self-note)
        • Pets Used:
      • "Subj: pas" = 1-on-1
      • "Gentle" = AoE
    • Conclusion: (currently unfinished; need pets trained)
    • Verify:
      • Video desirable
        • Party reduction:
          • More pets vs people only?
          • Reduction visually observed (Y/N)?
            • % reduced by:
          • Per pet: x%
          • Per Person: x%
    • Preferred skillset:
        • Keep both (?)
      • Skillset 1:
        • Healing Circle + Encourage + Clear Mind + 2x randoms (1st Aid hopefully)
          • Note: Gentle = ok
      • Sustainability:
        • Timid: (Y/N) ("Y" suspected..)
        • Gentle: (Y/N)
        • Fighter: (varies)
          • Justice: Likely
          • "Anti-Spike": (Y/N)
            • Specific details undecided
      • Skillset 2 & 3:
        • Ie: (#) next to skill to signify this
      • Healing Circle + Encourage + Armour Break (#2) / Stun (#3) + 2x randoms (1st Aid & Clear Mind, hopefully)
        • Note:
          • Gentle = Not ok
          • Timid = ok
          • Justice = ok
      • Skillset 4: (undecided if using)
        • Ie: code-named "Breaker"
      • Armour Break + Stun + Encourage + 2x randoms (?)
        • (hopefully 1st aid & Clear Mind)
        • might leave randoms blank
      • Edit: corrected "Sweep" for "Stun", as was originally intended.
      • However, I may substitute "armour break" with "Sweep".
      • (Further analysis is needed..)
    • (Other tests here)
    • (Place holder)

    Tips learned:

    1. Fusion pulls from parents' nature, weapon-type, etc.
      • Ie: can cut out full randomization, to create desired pedigree
    2. Hibernate often! (To preserve freshness whilst sleeping / afk long periods. (ie: more than 4hrs))
    • Best for:
      • Unused, with Full stamina (any)
      • After Training pet (if stamina is nearly full (ie: star) / full (heart)
      • Swapping pets for new strays (ie: starting new strays)
    3. Aggro pet vs Support pet

    • Support = No devoted pets! The nature is made for aggro. Will continue to eat aggro and ignores you over aggro.
    4. You may use any pet, for any class.
    • Only limited by:
      • Attack-pattern
    5. Easy skill-up:
    • Easiest is Gentle / Timid
    • Alternative: Skillboost on Fighter
      • Note:
      • Timid varies, because of the "will atk past 4m" thing.
        • Ie: Weapon-type matters: maybe. (Testing in progress to confirm)
    • Aka:
      • Level main skills on a Gentle / Timid pet > Transfer to your build's preferred type.
