I wouldn't recommend a full dex or even dex:str build...you might as well roll a 1/2 hander at that point because you are melee dps without the added benefits of what the dual class can offer.

Why so much ppl, interested on off-hand damage?
I thinks as long as you increase DEX, your main hand will stronger so your SUM of normal attack damage is not too bad as you imagine.
Plus, your skill-based damage will be higher. Because your P.attack growth are better.
Why still care about AGI so much.

 

Yes, that is true when we only take damage into consideration.

To have better understanding of DW (utilising AGI & DEX/AGI stats), the questions are:

• What is it about DW that is unique that sets it apart from 1H and 2H?
• What unique skills and strategies that AGI alone or in combination with DEX come into play for DW?

Damage isn't everything. If it was then no point dual wielding other than to look flashy - might as well roll a 2hander. Even skill damage or max crits isn't a good indicator of damage per second either.

 

yeah... i really love having a pinch of agi... evasion with light arm and the misses from bosses gives me the chills heheheh

Well I tried the switching my stats.
Instead of 27 strength and 113 dex I gone for 50 agi and 90 dex.
Can definitely say agi makes your class better than str

Can you share what improvements did you observe after the switch?

• Higher damage dealt per blow or skill/combo?

• Faster kills?

• Extra damage dealt from evasion attacks?

Without AGI, I can still optimize using some DS skill tree that I want to.
Why I use Dual Sword?
1. Free 500ASPD mastery
2. Faster recovery MP then 1H
3. Twin Slash is a new good DPS skill for 1H

I am not playing dodge or evasion, is it problem with you?
You can't said that I am not a DW class, only because I am not playing with that.

 

- My damage is higher in general.

- Kills are definitely faster since my damage seems more stable now.

Of course not. You're still a DW, just doing away with dodge and evasion.
Every player has different levels of focus and preferences on these areas for their builds in general:

1. Offense
2. Defense
3. Healing & Support

For you, you're inclined heavily to go on the offensive, dealing maximum damage you can garner.

For other players, they may be put a bit more more weight on defense or go for a balanced build.
But that doesn't mean they can't deal a good level of damage too. Just lower, but nevertheless still DPS, and not heavy defense like a Tank or super high evasive like a brawler.

Do we agree that P.Atk, Crit, Speed of attacks (due to higher ASPD), Stability and DMG from combos are good indicators when we are talking about DPS for DW?

Sorry, I don't understand the point.

Speed of attack? ASPD only good when reach 1100, higher is pointless.
I get 50AGI just because I wanna replace my F.cape+GS with War helmet+Warmonger, for more critical chance. Because I don't like using mega speed potion every time.

I will sure to reset again, if someone really confirm that AGI will give more DPS excluding what I explain above.

 

What i mean for DPS is aiming the Attack spot on Boss Fight.

It's just preference in playstyle basically yeah.

But even so, if you are aiming for max dps for dual wielding I think further testing is needed. The only true indicator of DPS is kill speed - which means recording times on minibosses/bosses and comparing.
