Why do people use girl characters even though they're boys?

Idk.. I always encounter the arguement that aligns with the "panty shot" selection in the poll, but I'm gay and always play as a male character, but not because I find them sexy or anything. It's never made sense to me, either. Maybe they're attention deprived?

First is the looks.
People tend to want to look at something they like staring at. The closer it is to their ideal, the better.
Somehow a there are male armors that don't look as good as female armors. Same thing goes for avatar. There are cases tho that male armors or avatar passes through our standards. That-is pleasing to the eye and you would want to drool at how good looking the clothes are.

Second is roles.
There are people who likes to cosplay.
There are people who likes to scam and/or make drama.
There are people who makes stories for their OC.

And the others.
They like using opposite gender characters.
They don't care what gender their character is.
They just want to without any reason.

as for the looks... people just don't understand XD

You know, that's not exactly the same reason why my character is male when I'm a female, but it hits a few points exactly!!

1. The character I designed is a perfect Uke, Oh gosh just looking at him makes my mind go "Squee" in awe and joy. It just fills me with plot ideas and helps me churn out stories that fast.
2. I didn't like the female animation of bending forward and tilting head, it's too cutesy??
3. My character just looks awesome- It has lapiz lazuli eyes, long Noble colored hair with a tie and it uses a sword and a shield. I wanted to make it a support first, but then changed it to a tank after reading that it'll be better for beginners.
4. Can say I relate to the males here. Looking at my character just fills me with joy. He's just so cute like a doll.

Cause its a game and the gender of ur character dont mind. Just make what u want with the fukin look u want and stop think a character represent your gender. If thats was da case, boys cant play tomb raider? Metroid? Pls..=_=

haha it's been that way forever in mmo games, I guess for appearance and female characters giving off an "elegant" touch to them that makes it enjoyable for people to play as? I don't know it for sure, but we shouldn't be one to judge in general

I'm a girl and I like to make male characters for "manly" classes (according to me) when given the chance, I think it's a nice fun change up in gameplay!

I have this problem as well, im mainly using boy character and have several girl character and people always asked me what is my actual gender, but when i said "man" they dont believe on me and if i said "girl" they started to doubt and eventually think me as a "man", if i dont say anything and giving vague answer then they will think me as a 100% girl, seriously what happen with toram players? can they just play it for fun and stop asking privacy?

 

Like the other men of high class and good taste on this thread I only use female chars as well. All for the same reasons as better aesthetics from avas and apps while also admiring the subtle curves of the female form. There are added benefits to using a female char. People are less likely to kick you if you play terribly. Often times they even dm you compliments that I know are directed to the character but it still brings a chuckle perhaps a laugh, maybe even a morale boost if it came from a thirsty player. At the end of the day after a gruelling level grind, mat grind, crysta grind, a simple "you're cute.." from a stranger eases all the pains when I reply " thanks I have a dick too.." and you see him logoff into the sunset.

 

I usually just take it as "you have a nice sense of style" but well, that's pretty funny. He actually took the effort to dm and make a party lol
