HB luk as farmer, your thoughts?

Might as well go for 2h meteor breaker then.

 

Just wield 2 swords if you dont wanna be a BS pretending to be mages and you dont like Halberds. As long as you're not an int based BS, FlashBlast + Shadowstep is still completely spammable skill.

I personally use the Impact>Dive Impact(swift)>Meikyou(cons) combo for my Halberd char(no subweapon for Two-Handed skill bonus) and its can hit for 50k or even more on Pelle.(my char was Lv129-132 at the time)

 

i farm with blast now. it kills everything that would otherwise require 3 storm hits to die, and it doesn't leave any leftovers.

 

Kinda ironic, chain cast work on blast? It have been soo long since i used it as a farm tool.(blast from the past pun lol!)

 

I've been told I'm crazy for farming with dive impact for awhile lol. I finally made luk mage but some mobs just tickle them. So I wind up going back to dive impact to farm them tougher mobs. It may be impractical at a glance but it works, and I just have to have a bit more patience. Especially because I farm solo a lot :/ #foreveralone

Im a bit of a staff and bow exclusuve kinda guy, any build guide ref perhaps? Since mayam & the other guy got pissed and threw everything out the window including the kitchen sink and the talking toilet, im a bit clueless on how to do it.

 

Prolly coz you have to cap str first before luck? Im a bit clueless myself, still looking for a high dps skill for low stat(coz i wanna max luk lol) i kinda need to stick to staves and bow so i can support my pet(coz pet mp charge cast time sux)

 

idk, at lv180, STR and LUK are not that much different. Maybe that guy was talking about another cons.

The video showed a guy killing mobs faster than storm and finale mage, so I wonder maybe it's because of the cost? I mean, mage is a low cost, low sp class, and maybe a luk halberd is a lot more sp and spina expensive.

Here I will list some pros and cons about hb farmer, these are personal experiences xd.
Pros:
1.High dmg: Hb got highest weapon atk in this game,and main stat is Str,which increase crt dmg.Therefore a full-str build is recommended for starter.
2.Better effiencey in killing strong mobs: Mobs released recently are getting stronger , most of them got more than 15k-25k hp.They can also do great dmg when stormer are casting.Dive impact hits twice with high power,and has wide range for massive kill.
3.Easy to lv up: Strong mobs prvide good exp (check it in CC ), it’s an alternative for lving.Mobs released yesterday have reached lv144 .The exp bonus is enough to help farmers reach lv149-150. I think this lv is high enough for farmers xd.
4.Prorations: md stormer got problems when theres 4 storm exist but still got mobs left. U deal low dmg while keep spamming storm. HB use impact and Dive in combos ,it seems more balanced when the whole party is spamming .
5.Farm high value materials and more mats: I think there’s no need to explain ...

Cons:
1.Dive impact can be affected by guard/evasion/graze ,and the stability of hb is low, gears can solve it parcially.Actually I don’t worry about it, the skill is strong enough,and gears will be stronger in the future.Its possible for hb to reach higher stability while magic cap 90%.
2.Hp controll :Warcry of struggle requires u to maintain hp at 55% or lower for maximizing mp recovery.It sound risky,but it’s not that terrible when u got vita plus and food buff.
3.Spam skills more often: Dive impact needs more spam than storm in a certain of time ,and some people may not like it.It takes times to get used to it.(This may not be a problem cuz people already spam like hel in boss fight)
4.MP COST: I use three type of combos
1mp: flash stab>impact(save)>Dive(smite)>Finale(smite)
3mp: impact>Dive(con)
4mp : impact>Dive(smite)>Finale(smite)
Warcry of Struggle consume 1 and recover at max,so Quck Draw is nessasy for hb farmer .I swtich combos under different cirsscumstances, and spam WOS twice if neccesary. Its not that hard cuz in the old days when maximizer didnt exit,storm cost 4 and mp charge recover 3(adjust to 3.5 for md last years),mp issue still exist especially when u got flinch .
5.Gear requrements : It’s true that physical char require better gears than mage,but it’s also true that even with low budget,hb do better than mage while fighting strong mobs. The video below is made for staters(full str build) to level up, same spot as posted .
Gears:
Lil empress hb(npc craft,refine+7)
Fortuitous vestibus (npc craft)
Shaved ice hat(Gespenst ll, the price is rising now, but I’m sure there’s an alternative)

I’m pretty sure people can afford better gears than this.
IF YOU THINK THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH,PLZ SWITCH TO MAGE WITH SAME BUDGET

when i tried this MP costs was a big issue.......the fact that you can't charge MP is an issue.......further more you would have to drag the mobs.
Impact is nice but, i just doesn't feel right and the range of impact is not the same has MD storm.......

 

War cry of struggle?

 

I tried this on my lvl 164 luk mage that I resetted to hb just now, and I think this is better than storm, even though I only have 180 str and max luk I'm still able to 1 shot high level mobs with the right equips. Mp is not a problem as long as you maintain your hp below 50% to maximize warcry of struggle, though it's important to have 100% crit to 1 shot the mobs, otherwise they usually just die on the second delayed blast. One other good reason to make this build is to have access to dragon tooth with 100% physical pierce against certain bosses(guignol, yelb super armor, zahhak, etc.), as it can be more effective than other dps skills depending on boss def.

 

Mp is not an issue with warcry of struggle
