that is because they don't get the exp bonus that we get from emblems :p
but they can get a bonus from good food and @Cruithne found out that affinity also affects the amount of exp gained.

So, best bet is to look for genius pets with nature of preference. Hope to see some charts soon.

A pet's normal/auto attack range/distance depends on its weapon. I dont think pet skills have their own set distance. A 2H pet will use raging blow in close range while a Bow pet will use that same skill in long range. A timid pet stays 8m away from its target so if its wielding a close range weapon like 2H it wont be able to attack offensively but may use buff/support/heal skills.

Justice can dodge all kinds of aoe, Intelligent cant dodge center aoe.

If the boss gets defeated while your pet is out of commission, it wont gain experience. But if your pet revives before the boss is defeated, it will still gain experience.

Not sure if it works like that...I got a staff pet and a knux pet and both have the option of attacking physical close range and magical long range...

What i also noticed that you can only change this on some pets if you change the auto attack %.

I think it can still use it. My staff/justice pet sometimes use lance even though its in long range. I guess staff pets are programmed with power wave-like auto attacks.

Yeah some pets have the option to switch between physical and magical normal attacks, it depends on their innate attack patterns.

@Cella [Yurie ♥] if your timid pet has an option to use long range magic normal attacks, choose it so your pet can still do auto attacks at long range.

Could you add effective ways to train different pet types if there are any or should the discipline just be done however we want to do it for training the pet instead of there being more effective ways for the different combinations?

Are you looking for effective ways to get the most stats from Discipline training? The only way is to wait for Discipline +50% Bonus that you get from feeding your pet. With this bonus on, Hard Discipline training will have 110% success rate. Different natures do consume stamina differently from one another but all of them still take about 50 times of training before they reach 100% Discipline.

Edit: Ty @J.D.X. for the reminder :D
Yes there is one more way to ensure your pet gets the most stats from training: spend Orbs. 1 Orb = 10% Discipline = 15 stats if successful, 10 stats if failed. I always recommend Hard training with Discipline +50% bonus because it also yields the same result as doing orbs. :)

First of all, 30% or 50% bonus is calculated from base success rate, i.e. Hard training (60% base success) + 50% of 60% (=30%) equals 90% success
Second, Professional training consumes 10% discipline instead of 2%, so u cant do 50x professional (it's stated in the guide btw)

Easy and Hard trainings = 56 times (including Skills and Stats training)
    Orb training = 10 times

So, Hard training 60% + Discipline Bonus +50% is not 110% success rate?
This means I have yet to see that bonus fail. All my trainings are always successful, no failures, when I have that bonus on. :D
