I have not played Iruna so I can't say

but based on what others say... it safe to save some skill points for the minstrel skill tree later on

My support uses md for high chance to inflict ailments. But as soon as SP became higher I'm planning to use staff+shield (aegis/protection) altho I think all tank shield should have those or +dagger via stargem maybe (poison) as an alternative means of adjusting depends of what farm. Nice to see full support builds here. I thought I'm the only one having fun with it.

Yeah, full support types are under appreciated here in Toram

The new boss laughs at that mentality.

true, my revised HB die a lot there on majority with the tanks but with some tanks i never die or in anyway survived some hits and support really come in very handy coz ive partied with few there and i never recalled those runs with a support passes 4min on NM even most of us die
plus before we saw how many are salty about the game being anti meelee with their new bosses. lets see if there will be drama from players that new boss looks like an anti range with its global red aoe that could 1 KO any dps having safe zone is to come close to its front

After this finale nerf I cant decide if i should go with 7k hp / 2.9k matk or 15k hp / 2.6k matk cause its hard making up for the loss in dmg and the new aggro problems (might as well remove the second and third hit and improve the first ffs!) and they want us to go int or dmg for finale, yet its Bosses Gone Wild everytime we update.

So I'm thinking high hp and let finale become optional even at the cost of extra dmg. I cant say that they are pigeon holing us because no other spells do jack squat for dmg.... but I feel pigeon holed in terms of usefullness as far as mage is concerned in the current meta.

Yeah, at new boss burst does crap dmg. Meanwhile, my 1k atk Bowman @lv137 is lifting chunks outta BG with cross fire.

Might have to have a BG+MD build for magic DPS z.z

Maaaan this update made me go full support, make a mean mp machine outta my ohs, and fine tune my bg tank into a tank with dps possibilities upon weapon swap and I loved my mage but its past midnight and theres no glass slipper anywhere to be found.

I believed they do. Hunter should be the debuffer in Iruna. I think most of the debuff skills early just dunno now coz I left it ages ago.

Soooo dead thread but maybe you'd want to update it. Dunno if anyone has pointed it out yet buuuuut
    .
    .
Aggro% is not the chance you will be targeted, but instead modifies how much aggro you get per mp spent.

Out of curiousity: why did you decide to use an MD for a support build?

From my perspective, going full support means means that rather than doing as much damage as you can, you’re helping your other party members’ performance. E.g. making sure that they die less and can do better damage. You mentioned that you wanted to inflict ailments, but from what I see, none of the ailments inflicted by the various ailments are truly worth using an MD for support.

Fire element inflicts ignite. At most, it offers a little bit of extra damage, but this does not provide much in terms of supporting capabilities.

Water element inflicts freeze. While this does slow down the boss, this does nothing to decrease the amount of damage the boss does, which would actually be helpful as support.

Wind element inflicts blind. In theory, this is nice since it would make the boss miss more often, but very little players in Toram invest heavily if at all in dodge and the like because of how RNG based it is and how little worth it actually has as a stat. Magic based attacks, any critical hits, etc. will also make blind worthless.

Light element inflicts dizzy. Dizzy cuts evasion and guard rate. This is a very situational ailment and not all that useful otherwise.

Dark element inflicts fear. Now, yes, fear can be very annoying when inflicted on a player. However, when inflicted on a boss, the short duration of the ailment and the unreliability of fear actually proctoring and negating an attack makes going out of your way to try and inflict fear not worthwhile.

You also have to consider the fact that bosses will resist ailments already inflicted on them for a period of time. This makes the unreliability of ailments contributing much to a fight even more unreliable. In a boss fight, the only ailments that really matter are stun/flinch/tumble, and these are much more readily available to other weapon classes.

Im also planning to equip staff + shield/daggers too for the aegis/protection/poison if the tank not using em when my sp becomes available. Thats the only skill im planning to get, shield bash be unreliable since my support got very low hit rate.
Support doing much damage as you can? Im kinda scratching my head with this. For me its kinda boost my dps dmg capabilities not mine by removing annoying ailments that delays dps dmg delivery and give auras, buffs, heal, fast resu, etc (hoping minstrel and dancer got support skills too). And if your support mindset is to deliver damage, i think you cant call yourself as a support coz those roles i mentioned requires mp + cast time and a dedicated role/build. Maybe its a dps/ semi support? Lmao my support not even using storm and finale.
I chose MD coz if i choose staff + shield the only skill worth it in my opinion are aegis and protection, i might not get stun because with my support's low hitrate, shield bash be unreliable be just a waste of sp. And my support requires a tank member which normally carry those skills already.
Ailment resistant not applied to all bosses. Also on some bosses and event bosses, ailments can play a role on improving party grinds. And MD increases ailments inflict rates.
There are times your stun, tumble, flinch got a negative counter effects on some boss and can be annoying esp on higher difficulties. And there are also bosses like crystal titan, maton, megiston, wandering wheel, etc that grinding noticeably became easier if ailments are applied. The game got bosses with different traits, im planning my support build to adapt to those differences.
And i wont deny the MD looks kinda cool and different

I don’t think you understood what I meant because I literally never said this. You might want to reread what I wrote a little more carefully.

Yes I'm sorry I didn't read it correctly.
Just saying my MD support never was for DMG. No storm, no finale , and most of all NO INT ;).
So if MD is not right? Staff is ? When its a known DPS weap plus like I said the only benefits I found on using staff+shield for a SUPPORT is aegis/protectioN that most tank should have already.
Just a matter of preference, I just prefer 100% elemental ailments inflict rate

    For me
staff weilder support prefer continous heal (high recovery of bless + heal) plus higher resistance (phy&magic res passive)
While md weilder is prorator (you can add agi instead int since u cant have bonus on bless) and spam normal attack also debuffer (given)
But im wondering now about the support staff+md using magic and magic swordman skill tree (u can choose healer focus type while enhacing your stat with magic swordman and magic skill passive and buff) but also can be a debuffer (magic swordman active-debuffer skill) but a bit hard since some skill acts as phy skill, well magic debyffer skill can be use but not as 100% like md main

I have not tried the magic swordsman route for support

    --------

Btw the minstrel skill tree is out

I just tried it but I'm not sure which one should i focus on or max it out........

Anyone who has a minstrel please help me out, so far what I discovered is that healing song stays at level 5

I play pure support myself and used your build as base. Initially I had Priest and Shield skills but unlearned them to prioritise three skill sets. (Assassin, Dancer and Minstrel)

I'm almost at cap, but so far I've maxed out Dancer as it seems more useful than Minstrel skills, I did invest in a few skills of it though.

What I find useful so far is Fairy song, I use it in a combo with Evasion and Serum, plus I use another combo with all the fan dances which mostly keeps the enemy attack to miss and/or lower damage (- frenzy Dance if not Boss)

My combo setup goes likes this
(I cast this as the start of battle)
Fairy Song > Evasion > Serum > Adlib

Then I cast Auras (Brave and Mana) next,

(This combo is optional to cast, but I mostly do this if I can't maintain Auras due to AoE attacks)
Fairy Dance > (followed by other fan dances with Save) > Adlib

The skill Elegant Dance is like P.Def, its a good alternative if there's a dangerous AoE that can 1hKO and it only costs 1MP.

And Nature's Wonder is the only offensive skill that will kill mobs that are attracted to you as well as heal you and other party members inside the area, though not as handy as Heal, still better than Bless imo.

I've rarely ever been kicked out of parties for it. Hope this helps. The path of Support is really hard and not really supported (pun intended) by many, I'm glad there's build like this that gives hope to us Support players. :)

I rather like the dancer skills for dps and/or support. Elegant dance saves you from 1hit k.o's and nature's dance can benefit you very well as its supposed to be dependent on the users HP when healing others. All other dances are supportive. There's one for increasing tap DMG too.
